Ad4BP/SF-1遺伝子のノックアウトマウスでは生殖腺と副腎が消失し、脳下垂体や視床下部の形成に顕著な障害が認められます。同時に、脾臓にも障害が認められるのですが、この論文では脾臓の障害を詳細に検討しました。この論文のデータが、この論文が掲載された号の表紙に採用されました。
