My name is Keiji Kuba. I was appointed the professor in the Department of Pharmacology, Kyushu University Graduate School of Medical Sciences on October 16th, 2022.

After graduating from Kyushu University in 1995, I had clinical training at Department of Surgery I and Intensive Care Unit at Kyushu University Hospital, and then went on to graduate school. After obtaining a doctor degree, I had worked as a scientist at Osaka University, University of Toronto Ontario Cancer Institute, Institute of Molecular Biotechnology of Austria (IMBA), Tokyo Medical and Dental University, and since 2014 I have been leading a biochemistry laboratory at Akita University Graduate School of Medicine. We are aiming for drug discovery and development through research to clarify RNA regulation and signal transduction mechanisms, focusing on cardiovascular and respiratory diseases and COVID-19. Since I have had the opportunity to return to my alma mater after 25 years, I would like to do my best to expand and develop my research, as well as to educate students and nurture the next generation.
