I am honored to announce that I was appointed as a Professor in the Department of Scientific Pathology, Graduate School of Medical Sciences, Kyushu University on July 1st, 2023.

After graduating from Saga Medical School in 1996, I have worked in Kyushu University Hospital and related facilities. I was fascinated by pathological research during my postgraduate years and decided to pursue a career as a pathologist. I studied surgical pathology with a focus on hepatobiliary and pancreatic pathology at the Department of Anatomic Pathology, Kyushu University, and in February 2014, I was assigned to the Department of Pathology and Microbiology, Saga University.

I am very excited to take charge of the new Department of Pathology at Kyushu University. The Department of Pathology at Kyushu University has a long history and tradition of producing outstanding researchers and clinicians. Inheriting the will of our seniors, I intend to build an attractive department by disseminating research results that will serve as a bridge between clinical medicine and basic sciences.
