Therapeutic interventions to transmissible spongiform encephalopathies have been vigorously studies. We found that pentosan polysulfate gave the dramatic prolongation of the incubation period in animal studies. Intraventricular pentosan polusulfate infusion is now tried for treatment of human prion diseases in UK and Japan. |
