Aim at a new drug preventing arteriosclerosis

Prostaglandin is known to be a cause of pain and arthritis, and also has physiological functions to control blood pressure, cardiac function and sleep. Doctor Yoshikazu Miwa (Clinical Pharmacology) reported that PGJ2, one of prostaglandin, protects vessels from damages using genetically modified mice. He is intending to apply this function as a preventive drug for arteriosclerosis.
