A gene related to cerebellar thrombosis was found in Hisayama Study

Hisayama Study group compared 1126 patients with cerebellar thrombosis with 1126 normal persons, and found the difference in 12 SNPs. They noticed PRKCH, and found that the patient has adenine 1.7 times compare than normal persons. They estimated this fact in Hisayma Study. 1642 citizens in the city who were judged normal by health examinations in 1988 were followed up for 14 years. AA type were high risk 2.8 times compare than GG type. They concluded PRKCH is the gene related to cerebellar thrombosis from these facts. This report was published in Nature Genetics in the last month.
