Associated Prof. Kensuke Egashira established a gene therapy for arteriosclerosis. He developed a novel anti-MCP-1 to prevent vascular inflammation, and proofed the effect in an animal study. He is also developing a bio-absorbable stent made of magnesium. It is coated by particles with 7ND gene and faded away after accomplishing it's purpose. These studies were awarded by the Ministry of Education in 2006.
