Kyushu university has Department of Health Sciences in School of Medicine. This department educates students as several kind of medical staffs, such as nurses, radiological technologists, and medical technologists. Current advanced medicine based on rapidly-progressing life sciences needs highly-educated professional medical staffs. Then the Department of Health Sciences is planning a graduate school to start its education programs in April, 2006. Prof.Umemura, a former dean of this department, says that graduates of Master course are needed as essential persons for clinical and educational fields.
